Spinach Baby's Leaf Hybrid - 1 Pkt. (300 seeds)

"30 days (salads), 41 days (cooking). The flat green leaves are sweet tender and very easy to clean. Ripens extra-early for salads. Lots of leaf, little stem. Burpee exclusive. Matures quickly. For first crop, sow in spring. Plant again in late summer. In mild winter areas, fall plantings yield in early spring. 300 seeds per packet unless noted; sows a 30' row. One ounce sows 100'. Sun/Partial Shade. "

The Perfect Salad Spinach, June 23, 2009
Submitted by NJMetal from New Jersey
"I grew this variety specifically for the 'baby' variety. Plants produced very well and I havested well into June (though a mild and rainy June admitedly). Pairs wonderfully with Arugula or Rocket Lettuce in salads. Lay a fresh bed down on your plate and top with a fresh-off-the-grill steak. Heaven!
I will be planting a fall crop for additional salads and Ill even wait a few extra minutes to cook it this time!"

Gotta Get It, April 27, 2009
Submitted by flooze
"Starts & produces so easily, why buy supermarket spinach? The market variety costs a minimum $2 for 10 ounces and there is no comparison in taste!

Don't wait another day. Save your large plastic containers, pots, large pet food containers, anything you already paid for and want to re-purpose.

Get the little ones involved and they will soon be enjoying the gratifications and good nutrition of home grown.

Even if you don't use all 300 seeds in the pack, share with a school or community project & get them all planted. I munch a leaf or two at every watering!"

Nothing more to add, April 10, 2009
Submitted by 7im8 from Fountain Hills
"GardenGuyCO said it all in his review. Sprouts and grows well. Can get larger than the "baby" name indicates when "let go" but stays tasteful and mild at any age. Looks just like the spinach at the store, and tastes all the better. First thing the neighborhood bunnies attacked this spring, so I had to finally replace the gate to keep them out."

Baby Leaf is a Special Delivery, August 14, 2007
Submitted by GardenGuyCO
"I have planted "Baby Leaf" spinach for spring and fall crops for several years. I have not found another spinach variety that can match its performance - quick growth rate, but the leaves do not become huge or tough as the season progresses. It is among the last to bolt in the spring / early summer, and it is very uniform in performance from one year to the next. By far our family's favorite spinach, we eat it fresh. Flat leaves are easy to clean, just as advertised. Strong producer with mild flavor, and quite easy to grow."
