Bean - Heavyweight II - 1Pkt (2oz)

"We've added improved disease reistance to last year's best selling bean! Like the original, Heavyweight II is the most productive bush bean we have ever seen. Stocky plants are only 18"" tall and produce huge handfuls of sweet tender pods fully 8"" long. Ready to harvest in about 53 days."

Love these beans, March 21, 2009
Submitted by jBlair from Mountain Home, AR
"We planted two 26 ft. rows in July of 08. From those rows we had enough beans to eat plenty of freshly picked beans, canned enough quarts to last our family of 6 into February and gave several bags full to friends and family.

Easily grown. Seemed pretty resistant to the bugs and issues we had with other plants.

Great taste. We were simply amazed by the incredible amount of beans from each bush. We're planting more this year and plan on having to never buy canned beans again. We'll be putting in beans for a spring and fall garden."

Awsome, November 7, 2008
Submitted by PADutchGardener from Berks Co. PA
"If you have planted pole beans before, and had a busy day, the beans take over your garden. My kids love beans and corn. I tried this variety last season because of the Burpee description; I was suprised.

I have a suburban garden and planted 16 square feet with this plant. It does not grow over 2", but produces and produces. The flavor and texture is wonderful.

I can't quite say how much I grew from what I gave away fresh, and then gave away blanched because I ran out of freaser room. I have enough after all of that for most of the winter.

I know that I will be planting a whole section of my garden with this varitey next year!"

Submitted by Babekakes from Renner, SD
"These green beans are amazing! My very first garden has produced more beans than I ever could have imagined, and they are delicious! I would definitely recommend them to everyone and will plant them again next season."

Outstanding Production!, July 31, 2008
Submitted by Symphony from Marin County, CA
"I planted only a tiny, short row, approximately 6-feet in length. It is producing so heavily, that we are giving beans away. I am about to plant the rest of the row so we will have beans into October."

Heavyweight is the Champ!, April 14, 2008
Submitted by LakeErieGarden from Lorain, OH
"This bean, while not quite as good as Blue Lake or White Half Runner (two of my favorites) is almost as good with darn near twice the output. To be fair though, I grew this with that bacteria stuff Burpee sells and used most of it on my peas but had enough left over to use with this bean. Holy cow, this is an abundant, tasty green bean. It really just took off with little intervention. No disease problems either."

Unbelievable bean, February 16, 2008
Submitted by gardenblueewe from Rhode Island
"This will be my fourth year planting these beans. 2 years ago, they must have had a bad batch, because 3 separate sowings did not germinate, I was so mad, I got my money back. But last year I tried again, and just like the first year, they were amazing. Great germination last year, and unbelievable yields. After the main crop is nearly gone, I cut 4-6 inches off the tops and they produce another crop, lasting most of the season till frost. Just can't beat them, in 25 years of gardening, the best bean I have grown."

I finally found great beans, August 23, 2007
Submitted by vippertheviper
"This is my first year to plant these. I usually plant 3 20' x 4' beds of beans to get enough to can for the year. I planted 1 bed of these and 2 beds of another kind (to hedge my bet) but the other 2 beds were not necessary. We had enough from this one bed to eat fresh and have enough to can for the year (50 pints) and they still kept producing more. In summary they germinated quickly, tasted great fresh, steamed and canned great."
