"This extremely old variety makes a vigorous plant, which bears enormous numbers of bright yellow, bite-sized fruit. The flavor is deliciously tangy. Perfect for summer party hors d'oeuvres. Indeterminate 75 days. Sorry, state laws prohibit shipping plants to Alaska, Hawaii, Arizona, California, Nevada. Plants ship in spring at proper planting time. ( click here for shipping schedule ) "

Could not kill,
November 30, 2008 Submitted bykari from DFW Area
"I bought these in error and loved them. I live in North Texas and they not only survived the summer they survived a several nights 32-38 degrees in November. I planted them in my yard with mostly sun. I watered them twice a week during the summer, but instead of food I used my lawn clipping each around the base of the plants. I have 4 plants and used a bag a week of the clippings. This not only provided food but kept the ground moist. Note not a lot of fruit during summer but once it cooled in Sept they have tons and have not stopped and now it is Dec."

What went wrong?,
November 3, 2008 Submitted byCookD from Atlantic City, NJ
"I grew about 10 plants from seed. I gave 8 away and everyone loved them and they produced well. The fruit is very sweet. My 2 plants died before I got 20 tomatoes from them. My other tomatoes did well so I'm not sure what happened. I'll try again next year."

Pretty and plentiful, but not a great texture,
September 13, 2008 Submitted byNicola from SE Michigan
"Although they popped later than most of my cherry varieties and other small tomatoes, when they finally went they were very prolific. The unique shape is fun for kids, as it's great to have a variety of tomatoes to show them.
The flavor is a bit better than okay, but I do not go out of my way to show them to people who are unfamiliar with them. My grandmother loves them, as does my best friend, but the slight mealy texture is very present and is unappealing to those who are not tomato aficionados. They have a nice sweet tang and if you do not mind the texture, they're great to snack on straight off the plant.
All in all, I would recommend them and will grow them again next year, but they are truly a bit more for show than for eating."

Pretty but okay taste,
August 9, 2008 Submitted bybacktoedenlandscaping from Stillwater
"I loved the look of these tomatoes, but when I tasted the first couple from the vine, I was very disappointed. Every review that mentions the "mealy-ness" is definitely correct. They are however, very pretty!"

fantastic cherry-type,
May 11, 2008 Submitted bydcook from Denver, CO
"I have grown quite a few variety of tomatoes from seed and these are always prolific and easy to grow. The plants get very large, over 6' tall, and the yield is impressive. These plants require support. The flavor is good. With such an incredible harvest, we had too many to eat fresh and too many to give away. I used them in my crushed tomato recipe."

Tasty, pretty, but frustrating,
February 24, 2008 Submitted byMarmoxmag from Scarborough, ME
"I planted these last year for the second time. I really enjoy the flavor and the appearance, but both planting seasons I have been disappointed with how the fruits split open the second they're ripe. Yes, still totally edible but not great for sharing with friends and family. I would often pick every day and still end up with either not-quite-ripe but beautiful tomatoes, or split-but-tasty tomatoes. With so many other great varieties to try, I won't be giving them a third chance."

You can definitely grow a better cherry than this,
November 10, 2007 Submitted byLakeErieGarden from Lorain, OH
"I, like everyone, enjoy a real sweet and juicy cherry tomato. Once you get over the novelty of how nice this looks you have a fairly bland and mealy tomato. I grew them last year and let two volunteers come up again this year. I will not give up precious garden space for this again. Try the Supersweet 100 if you are looking for a decent cherry tomato. I gave it two out of five leaves only because in all fairness it is prolific as heck."

"I always like to try new and unusal things in the garden and this was by far the best I've had! It's extremely prolific! Great texture and flavor in cold pasta salads. Truly makes terrific sauces. Keeps relatively long in the fridge. Freezes well whole(skins don't toughen much) and still maintains its integrety. My 2yr old and 5 yr old loved growing them and had a field day picking them! My 2year old called them his "super yummies" and devoured them off the vine(and he usually hates fresh tomatoes) The seeds started well and the vines were HUGE when mature(became a project trying to contain them). Was a big hit with my very picky Italian inlaws. I will definately grow this every year from now on. Currently I am searching in stores for just this variety but can only find a trio cherry mix with them. Only dissapointment was how little seeds were in the packet."

"This tomato is the exeption to my "don't bother with cherry tomatoes because they aren't worth the effort of picking all those little tomatoes" rule. They are great in salad or eaten individually, but I wasn't real happy with them dried. I plan to grow them again this year, but I won't be drying any of this type again. Friends are very appreciative to receive gifts of this unusual tomato."

"I started my crop of Heirloom Yellow Pear tomatoes from seed as a request from my wife. They have been prolific with both plant production and fruit, but, the tomatoes are tart and acidic? far from the expected sweet in taste.
I found other reviews interesting because growers had flavor results that were nearly opposite to mine. I find myself with dozens of yellow pear tomatoes, and many more on the way, without a recipe to tame the acidity! I?m up for recipes and growing suggestions."
