Snow Pea Oregon Sugar Pod II - 1 Pkt. (200 seeds)

"As versatile as snap peas - pick snow peas flat and tender. 68 days. Vigorous 28"" plants bear 4 1/2"" long pods. Resistant to pea virus, common wilt and powdery mildew. Superb for freezing. Direct-sow in early spring, again in midsummer for a fall crop. Outstanding winter crop in Zones 9-11. 200-225 seeds per packet, sows about 30' of row; one lb., 240'. Our seeds are not treated. Proven tops for performance, flavor and wide adaptability. Sun."

productive, tasty, easy, September 11, 2009
Submitted by mommavet from Union Grove, WI
"I have planted this variety 2 years in a row, and though my pods don't usually look picture perfect, they taste delicious, and are the only pea I've tried that seems to thrive in my poor soil, three varieties of shelling peas have failed miserably. Had to plant twice because the chipmunks loved the seed, but my second planting quickly caught up, and they produced until August- we did have a cool summer. The really nice thing about this pea is that even if the seed starts to develop a little more than ideal if you miss a pod, they are still tender enough to eat, and very sweet tasting. They also keep several days in the refrigerator for me."

Heavy crop and excellent flavor, February 26, 2008
Submitted by MrGreenGenes from Central Missouri
"Wouldn't plant any other variety. These are sugar sweet even after being frozen for 6-8 months. When the vines start producing you will need to pick them twice per week. I plant two rows about a foot apart and trelless them on 4' wire fabric fence. Makes picking very easy and keeps the vines healthy. Use the "booster" Burpee sells for peas/beans or buy bean "innoculant" from a farm supply store."

Worth growing in the desert southwest!, September 23, 2007

"These plants grow six feet tall in Las Vegas if planted in the fall! I can harvest them 2-3 times before summer heat by letting them grow all winter. I start harvesting in January/February."
