Carrot Sweet Treat Hybrid - 1 Pkt. (1500 seeds)

"Easy to grow and full of vitamins. 1,500 seeds per packet; sows a 40' row; 1 oz., about 300'. Ready to harvest in about 70 days. Superb carrot flavor and delicious crunch these 5"" sugary spikes are one of the best salad carrots we've ever pulled from the ground. Burpee Exclusive.

GARDEN HINTS: Sow seed in deep, well-worked stone-free soil. Do not transplant as crooked roots may result. Sow directly in the ground after danger of heavy frost in the spring. Grows best in full sun."

Judges Choice, July 26, 2008

"This is the first year (2008) that I tried this carrot, and the 26th year that I've entered carrots (and lots of other things) in the local county fair...
This carrot took the blue ribbon and Judges Choice award in the root vegetable division of open class!
It's sweet, crisp and incredibly uniform... This carrot is a real winner and I am ordering again for next year..."

Sweet, Fat and Grows like a Champ!, July 15, 2008
Submitted by ChristyACB from Norfolk, Virginia
"This carrot is as advertised and more. Truly exceptional germination rate and the seedlings are hardy right from the start. Since I use the Square Foot Gardening method, any that don't germinate are easily noticed and out of all the squares I planted, only a single carrot seed didn't sprout and grow to full size.

Pulling these from the ground is a treat! Lovely shape, true color and a sweet crisp crunch that everyone loves make it my favorite carrot to grow. While advertised at 7 inches, mine grew up to 9" in length and maintained flavor well.

This one is best eaten quickly as I did note a tendency to soften quickly in the refrigerator. Dehydrates very well and re-hydrates true to shape and flavor. Canned very nicely too!"

A REAL TREAT!, May 17, 2008
Submitted by meetscriteria from Pensacola, FL
"Well, this was a great performer. Amazing germination rates (>95%) which grew fast. Performance was just as advertised. I am amazed every-time I pull from one from the ground. Believe it or not, I just harvested one whose main body was 9" long and 2" in diameter!!!
Sweet taste, and fun to grow. Every person that tried one proclaimed it to be the best carrot they'd ever had!"
