"This is without a doubt a plant that must be grown in your garden. Incredibly free flowering, you will have ample blooms to brighten the garden as well as grace fresh arrangements. Strong stemmed upright plants grow to 24"" tall and proudly display full 3"" globes of the whitest marigold we have ever grown. Try them with warm colored zinnias, salvias or celosias.
Can be sown directly in the garden after all chance of frost, or start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost for earlier bloom. Grow in full sun and space plants 12-14"" apart in the garden. Tip:Remove spent blooms and fertilize regularly to promote fuller, more robust blooms.

Needs Deadheading,
September 26, 2009 Submitted bydicentra63 from Salt Lake City
"The blooms themselves were lovely, but the deadheads were dark black. I can't deadhead very often, so the plants looked only half good."

CAUGHT MY FANCY,
August 24, 2009 Submitted byLolita from Brooklyn, NY
"I never knew there was white marigold until I received the catalog. I had to purchase them. I sowed them in a large pot and now I have a showstopper! They are gorgeous! I am jealously guarding that pot of plants. No one on my block had seen white marigolds before!"

Lovely flower, not a great cutter,
May 26, 2009 Submitted byRapidGrower from Rapid City, SD
"I usually plant these in a pot with 4th of July Zinnias. It makes a lovely mix. They have a nice fragrance. Only thing is, like most marigolds, they aren't the best for cutting. I've had little luck with that. But they're still wonderful to have in the garden, and like all marigolds they keep the bugs away!"

Excellent!,
February 26, 2009 Submitted byVictorious from Upstate NY
"I rarely direct sow flowers, but I tried it with these Marigolds. I was anxious to see if those gorgeous white blooms that I saw in the pictures, would prove true in my raised beds. No disappointment!! My expectations were exceeded and I enjoyed the plants well into October and I live in zone 4!"

Underestimated Height,
January 20, 2009 Submitted byGardenGirl88 from Twin Valley, MN
"Burpee has greatly underestimated the height of these marigolds, at least for my garden. I had marigolds that grew more than 30" tall in my '08 garden. Some were about 34" tall.
I planted them close to my broccoli, and thankfully the broccoli was done early, because I couldn't see whhat was let of the stalks when the marigolds took over! Wow!"

Beautiful and Easy to Grow,
January 9, 2009 Submitted bykpsagar from St. Louis, MO
"These were the first marigold seeds that I ever tried, and they did so well that I'm buying them again. Despite the rainiest spring and summer my area has seen in a long time, these performed beautifully. They grew very quickly and were covered with flowers all summer. We have a huge garden, but when people visited us last summer, this was the plant that they always exclaimed over first!"

"This was the first time I had started Marigolds from seed. The Snowballs were very vigorous and covered with blooms. I only grew them in containers this year, but next year they are going all over my yard. Even in relatively small containers, the plants grew to about 2 ft. tall. I was very pleased."

"I am a novice to Florida gardening, however these started right away and grew very easily. I found that they really needed to be staked to withstand heavy rainfall. Also - needed fertilizing to keep large blossoms. Was also great in containers - was in part sun - with the afternoon shade. Florida afternoon sun would wilt the plants."

Strong from Seed,

"I began this seed at least 8 weeks before moving it outside. It is a strong starter. After a few inches tall, it becomes very bushy. This is a very easy strong marigold. My only complaint is that the color varies. The bud begins greenish yellow. As the flower opens, it is buttery yellow. It isn't until it fully opens that a light yellowish white flower matures. Some flowers are whiter than others."
