"No more trays and pots to buy, wash and store! This nifty mold turns strips of ordinary newspaper into biodegradable seed starting pots that you plant right into the garden. Hardwood form lasts for years. A real money saver."

FEATURED REVIEW
Excellent Product,
February 1, 2006 Submitted byScott from Murrieta, CA
"I wish I had bought this sooner. I no longer have to buy peat pots to start my seeds. It is easy to make the pots, which have no problems holding their shape. The newspaper allows the roots to easily pass through, so transferring to the garden is easy. This is one of the best products I have ever purchased for gardening."

What a great product!,
October 1, 2009 Submitted byAramis83 from Louisville, KY
"This little tool is great. I'll never buy a peat pot again. I started all my seeds in these newspaper pots and popped the whole thing right in the garden. No disturbing the roots. A bonuse I didn't even realize until I planted is that the pots also act as a cutworm barrier. I just left a little peep of the top of the newspaper pot out of the soil and didn't lose one seedling to cutworms this year!"

Awesome,
April 24, 2009 Submitted byspadge from Westchester, NY
"After sitting in my cupboard for several years, I decided it was time to give this a try. It does need a couple of wraps of paper to make the pot, but providing you fill immediately it holds it's shape even with watering. It has certainly saved money and I feel good that I'm recycling in such an effective way. Pity it took me so long to use it. I certainly don't intend to buy seed containers in the future."

Helpful hint!,
March 14, 2009 Submitted bySBaudhuin from Atlanta, GA
"I love this concept. However, I placed a bunch of these in a pan with the sides touching to start my seeds under a grow lamp about 4 weeks ago, and the pots are disintegrating as I am trying to space them out to accommodate my growing plants. They need to be made with at least 2 complete wraps around the potmaker, if not more, and should not be placed where the sides can touch."

All the News Thats Fit To Compost!,
February 15, 2009 Submitted byGrandPop from Labadie, MO
"I bought the pot maker because the idea appealed to me / the newspapers today are not worth reading anyway and the idea of turning tem into compost while at the same time providing a cheap way to move my starts up just made me smile. So far all is going according to plan, like the other reviews indicate. The little pots are easy to make, and are holding up to the moisture from watering very well. I will add to this review after the end of March, when I will be planting them. But if they hold up as well as they have so far, I expect to be posting a positive review."

Great Investment,
January 26, 2009 Submitted byValerieBat from Auburn, NY
"The PotMaker really is just as great as all the reviews say it is. It's super easy to use, and the newspaper pots hold together very well. I started my foxglove seedlings for spring already in the pots I made - these are just so much better than terra cotta pots. And it's such a relief to know I won't have to take my seedlings out of their pots when the time comes for spring planting!
I can't wait to start the rest of my seedlings with my newspaper pots!"

I love my newspaper pot maker,
June 20, 2008 Submitted byKimberly
"I remember as a child making newspaper pots in school. This is very easy to do. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and my hands are not what they used to be, but I have no problems with this product. I have even let some family friends children play with making the pots, they have so much fun seeing the pots come out so perfect. I make sure that I put the newspaper pots in a tray to catch all the excess water drainage. Make sure that you do not wrap the newspaper around it to tight or you will ripe the bottom pulling it off. I hope you enjoy your newspaper pot maker as much as I do."

Excellent Product,
May 12, 2008 Submitted bylachicachiva from Nashville, TN
"Pots were easy and fun to make. It took very little practice to achieve consistent and solid results. I was worried about how well the pots would hold up under germination conditions, but they have done very well and survived the two months to transplant time.
The only difficulty was getting the potting soil into the pots since they are not stiff enough to scoop with. Because of the shape it is not efficient to pour in soil (you lose a lot to the spaces between the round pots) so next year I will use a scoop and/or wide funnel to facilitate that step."

Great Investment,
April 21, 2008 Submitted bylittlegarden from Rural PA
"I bought my pot maker last year and love it. Not only do I make hundreds of pots for myself, I also have friends and family members asking me to make there pots too. I found my seeds did so much better growing in these pots. Placing in them in my garden was a breeze my plants flourished. It also helped in fertilzing the ground for the next garden season"

Gotta love recycling...,
March 1, 2008 Submitted byMater from Goleta, CA
"...to make it worthwhile. This little tool works very well, but you do have to cut the newspaper to the proper width in order to get a nice, tidy planting cup. Make sure you use LONG strips of newspaper because when it gets wet, only one or two layers of newspaper won't hold the planting medium. It's time consuming, especially if you want to make a number of these pots. Best done some evening when you're watching TV, listening to music, or reeeally excited about the thought of recycling."

Puttin' on the pots!,
February 9, 2008 Submitted bypookie from Historic Valley Forge, PA
"I just received one of these little buggers for Christmas, and wasn't too sure if I would like making my own pots. Boy, was I wrong. The PotMaker® is so easy to use, I can sit and watch TV and finish off dozens of pots in just a few minutes. There is no muss or fuss, and the pots just keep rolling off. I've made so many pots over the weekend, that I will bring them to work to share with co-workers. Who was the creative genius that came up with this little device? PS: This little device will also help you to recycle all that newspaper that sits around the house, so you get to help save the environment as well as enjoy making your own pots."

Potty over the Potmaker,
April 2, 2007 Submitted bysocalsweetpea
"I love this product. I plant most of my garden from seed. Our soil is very sandy and it is almost impossible to plant small seeds and keep them damp enough to sprout. I bought cheap plastic flats, made the pots (very easy process), filled them with soil, set them in the plastic flats for support, and planted the seeds. I just transplanted three varieties of tomatoes with no transplant shock at all."

Surprisingly Effective,
March 6, 2006 Submitted byJim from Ashburn, VA
