"These four varieties are tops in flavor, vigor, productivity and popularity.
Big Mama Hybrid is an enormous plum toamto that's incredibly sweet and meaty. Makes real thick sauce. Excellent fresh flavor. Very high yielding.
Fourth of July Hybrid is the first tomato to ripen by Independence day. Be the first on your block to pick a ripe tomato. Keeps producing for months.
Burpee's Burger Hybrid is a better beefsteak - very early to fruit, with firm succulent slices perfect for sandwiches, grilling or salads.
Health Kick Hybrid is an amazing multi-use tomato - great for sauces or sliced on salad platters. Packed with flavor and the anti-cancer agent Lycopene.
Sorry, plants CANNOT be sent to AK, AZ, CA, HI, or NV. Plants ship in spring at proper planting time. "

incredible sampler, from a first time gardener,
September 4, 2009 Submitted bykaelen from brooklyn, ny
"all four of these plants are amazing. this summer is my first gardening, and these four are delicious and resilient. living in NYC, we had a horrible June and i'm forced to grow these tomatoes raised-bed style (they each have their own 5-gallon buckets). Still, i have the biggest crop of anyone i know, and to date i've canned about 6 quarts of sauce from the big mama and health kick plants (and still have a ton ripening on the vine). the burger tomato is rich and each tomato is huge. the 4th of july have TONS of tomatoes growing on them. they grow just a bit bigger than cherry tomatoes and I eat them as such. can't wait to grow these again next year, they're huge and such a great starter pack."

more tomatoes than i've ever seen,
August 1, 2008 Submitted bymarshall from Virginia Beach, Virginia
"This was my first purchase from Burpee. My tomato plants have grown well over eight feet tall and I have already harvested about thirty pounds of tomatoes. The tomatoes are perfect. I will order all of my vegetable plants through Burpee for ever."

Tomato Results,
March 1, 2008 Submitted byRoger from Fitchburg, MA
"Highly recommend all 4 types. Consider taking the staking and caging seriously rather than an after thought. Each loaded plant can weigh over a 100 lbs. Don't water the leaves, they will develop a fungus and the leaves will turn brown. They are very sensitive to direct sunlight when first transplanted, cover them with something. Water them with warm water in the spring, cold water will stunt their growth."

Not all that impressed,
December 26, 2007 Submitted byGardenInMA from Saugus, MA
"I decided to get this mix last year to try different kinds and was disappointed. I did not feel the 4th of July tomatoes had much flavor. The two plum types were a little better and the burger hybrid was the best tasting of the bunch, but I didn't get that many off the plant."

Beautiful Plants,
May 16, 2007 Submitted byDelGardner
"I purchased this set of 4 tomato plants and they arrived just at the right time for planting. They were surprisingly large, healthy plants. They have been in the garden for about 2 weeks now and are growing very well. I was hesitant about buying tomato plants that had to come through the mail, but the packaging was great and the plants arrived in perfect condition. I'll buy tomato plants from Burpee again!"

Great product for beginners to tomato growing,
May 15, 2007 Submitted byBrentInOakParkIL from Oak Park, IL
"I would strongly recomend that you grow tomatos from seed using this starter/sampler. There are 4 excellent types of tomatoes and they grew very, very well for me in a suburb of Chicago. I had 28 plants and we froze plenty and gave lots away to friends and neighbors. This really impressed upon me the need to get excellent seed and Burpee is excellent.
I dug up the best grass in my lawn which was in full sun so the tomatos would get the best possible spot. My wife begged me not to, but you can't eat grass--only mow it and mow it! We raised beans and peas with great success, too. So this summer I am going for more variety: okra, lettuce, brocolli, califlower, Brussels' sprouts, Pak Choi, herbs, bush beans, pole beans, snap peas and herbs. All most all Burpee."
