Broccoli Green Goliath - 1 Pkt. (300 Seeds)

"Bred especially for the home gardener, to give an early and extended harvest. Large headed, tight budded, blue-green center heads mature over a three-week period, not all at once. Good side shoots follow after center head is harvested. Ready to start picking about 55 days after plants are set or thinned in garden.

GARDEN HINTS: For early start, sow seeds indoors about 6 weeks before outdoor planting time in a sunny area or under plant lights. Sow indoors in late winter or early spring for first crop and then again in summer for a fall crop. Grows best in cool weather and full sun."

Easy Broccoli, June 8, 2009
Submitted by DelawareBob from Dover, DE
"I started these seeds indoors about 5 weeks before I set them out on the first of April here in Delaware. They were ready for main head harvest around June 3. The plants grew quite well except for a few purple tipped lower leaves when we had a late cold snap that didn’t seem to cause any harm. I didn’t have any bug or critter problems on these plants either.
I used miracle grow vegetable fertilizer and sea magic one time about a month after transplanting. The heads are big! I filled 2/3 of a gallon freezer bag from just one of the bigger heads (cut and blanched). The flavor is excellent!
I planted 19 plants for a family of 4 that loves broccoli. I realize I didn’t plant enough and will be planting more for a big fall crop so I freeze it and enjoy it until next year."

It's a keeper!, July 9, 2008
Submitted by Corni from Cincinnati, OH
"Haven't grown broccoli in 20 years, but this variety made me wish I had. The heads were huge...and so were the plants, so leave room. As another reviewer said, the plant can loose a lot of foliage to bugs and critters but mine still produced beautifully. Tastes great! Now I"m going to wait and see if I get the side shoots everyone is raving about."

Couldn't believe how much broccoli I got!, December 31, 2007
Submitted by Anonymous from Geneseo, NY
"This was my first attempt at broccoli. I had always thought for some reason that broccoli was very hard to grow. After watching my friend grow some, I thought I'd at least give it a try. I grew 6 plants in my garden and I got SO MUCH BROCCOLI! Way more than my friend got with her generic brand of seed. I got one enormous head per plant, and then a large side shoot after side shoot after side shoot. My broccoli produced even after our first hard frost! I did nothing to it, other than to water well, and to put fertilizer in the garden soil before planting. And, to top it all, this was the most delicious broccoli I'd ever had! Eating store brand now is so tasteless! We froze some, but loved it so much that we ate most of our crop before we had a chance to freeze it, and the bit we did freeze, we devoured after the fisrt month!! Next year, much more broccoli in the garden!"

just great, October 14, 2007
Submitted by ox1111
"This broccoli is pretty fool proof. plant it and it will grow. After the main head it will make an amazing amount of side shoots. This broccoli cooks much faster than store bought and the flavor is great.
If you have insect problems this plant can take a large loss of foliage and still produce, so if ground hogs or insects chew up your plants don't rip them out they more than likely will produce."
