"This is the old-fashioned perennial hollyhock that is so hard to find. Try it along a fence or plant with verbascum for a special look. A blend of rose, white, maroon, yellow and pink, large 3-5"" single flowers are produced abundantly on stalks 5-7', July to September. Grows best in full sun. Zones 4-8. Perennial.
Sorry, state laws prohibit shipping plants to AK or HI. Plants ship in spring at proper planting time. ( click here for shipping schedule )"

Color selection limited,
August 30, 2009 Submitted byMW04 from illinois
"I grew these from seed and are blooming the first year. I am disappointed as the 30 plants are magenta with only one pink. The color selection is extremely limited and did not produce any yellows or whites as I had hoped."

Outstanding Single Hollyhocks,
July 10, 2009 Submitted byBeetsAreTheNewSpinach from Valley Forge, PA
"I had to have single hollyhocks and ordered 6 plants in January. I've been getting very high quality perennial plants from Burpee and have shifted more of my orders thier way. The quality per price is very good. Planted 6 country romance plants in mid April. They were in bloom by early June and put on quite a show, which I did not expect from a first year biennial plant. They have been a delight to behold with the bloom period lasting over a month. I recommend planting in groups of 6 or more for a full garden effect. Mine were mostly a pretty pink with a few maroons. Standing around 5 1/2 foot tall, they did not require staking, despite lots of rain and some high winds."

Beautiful Hollyhock Blooms in PA,
June 27, 2008 Submitted byCharity from Central PA
"I live in Central PA, and I planted this Hollyhock mix last year. The plants have performed beautifully in full sun and in dry clay soil! Of the 4 Hollyhocks I have planted, there is one each of magenta, yellow and pink. The fourth is about to bloom so I am hoping it is white! :-)"

Hollyhock Country Romance,
July 24, 2007 Submitted byMele
"Most grew very quickly and all but one have bloomed already. And it's only the first season! However I was dissapointed in the color mix. There were no whites or yellows in the mix. Only the dark magenta and light pink were in the mix. Most have grown upright, with few needing to be staked. Very beautiful if it were not for the lack of color variety; I would give these hollyhocks a five."

Disappointed in PA,
July 19, 2007 Submitted byLAFinPA
"I fell in love with these plants in theory, but they bloomed only in one color-not the mass of color that I had been hoping for. The color that I did get, a rich magenta, was beautiful, but a far cry from what I hoped for."

Romance Mix Hollyhocks,
November 4, 2006 Submitted byIslander from Winter home, Cicero, NY
"I grow these along the south facing wall of my cottage on Wolfe Island, Ontario and in the rock garden facing the river. I've grown them now for almost 10 years and each year the show becomes more impressive. They withstand brutal winter winds and temperatures and reward summer weather with vivid colors and opulant blooms all along stalks that sometimes reach the roof. I recommend these to all who want a tall background your neighbors will envy."

"I'm always looking for plants from my past,The Hollhock is a part of that. I enjoy the meny colors and how well a plant will do for you, with little care on your part.It adds a part of the past to my yard to enjoy for years to come. I look forward to see the plants start in the spring. They hold up well to our storms, wind and rain. They do well in sandy soil that I have in my yard and somr times hot dry summers,They hold up to our winters as well."
