"Plants yield early and need no support. One packet has 2 oz. of seed unless noted, and will sow a row of about 20'; one pound sows about 160'. Our seed is not treated. New. Gold Mine.ß55 days. Very high yields of crisp, ultra-sweet wax beans are borne on compact and unusually upright plants. The beans grow together in clusters that make harvest a snap. Beans are 5-5-1/2"" long. Burpee Exclusive. Sun."

"I planted two rows of Gold Mine beans in 2005, and I have never seen such a beautiful crop. Each plant seemed to produce dozens of the longest, straightest beans you can imagine. They were absolutely picture perfect. My mother, a Horticulturist who owned a greenhouse for years, commented that there was more bean than plant! They were so easy to pick as they grow in clumps on sturdy stems. I pulled most of my bush beans in August, but the Gold Mines held up well to the dry summer so I just left them. About 3 or 4 weeks after the first crop dwindled, there was another beautiful crop of late beans! They froze well and kept the color and crispness we love in fresh vegetables. Absolutely my favorite Burpee vegetable."

Tasty,
October 22, 2009 Submitted byRitaPDX from Portland, OR
"I planted these next to Eureka Yellow Bush, and of course Eureka way outperformed them. Yet, they were easy, low-maintenance and produced steadily. They are reliable but not an overachiever. If you want an overachiever, plant Eureka instead."

Amazing Beans!,
May 9, 2009 Submitted byGatorsMom from Tampa, FL
"We planted just 2 - 4' rows, in a raised bed, on March 28th. We harvested approximately 4 lbs. on May 7th! We literally got tired of picking these beans. There is an amazing amount still left on the plants! This is the only yellow bean to grow. The flavor is fantastic, too!"

Excellent Bean,
September 9, 2008 Submitted bybstnh1 from Southern New Hampshire
"This bean is great - it is a heavy yielder, has great flavor and is totally stringless. It is not, however, as easy to harvest as the description would have you believe. These beans are very well attached to the plant and you cannot just yank them off. To avoid damaging the plant and immature beans, you must hold onto the plant near the bean's stem and then pull the bean off."

"I sell this bean at the local farmers markets, and every week people come back asking for more. Hardy plants, producing large numbers of same size beans with good color and incredible taste. In my opinion, this is THE ONLY YELLOW BEAN TO GROW !!!"

"To say these beans are prolific is an understatement. We planted 2 packs (75'). Nearly 100% came up. Plants resisted bugs with only one application of permethrin just after emerging. Yield was 25-35 beans per plant! All came it at once so didn't have to go back and reharvest. Think had about 15 gallons of beans. No black spots and even length and width. Taste very good, not waxy. They now fill 1/4 of the freezer."
