Zucchini Gladio Hybrid - 1 Pkt. (20 seeds)

"Distinctive, dark green Italian-type zucchini with light green ridges. Appears star-shaped when slices are cut crosswise. Sweet taste and crisp texture. Upright, vigorous plants with open habit. Ready to harvest 50 days after sowing seed in the garden. Grows best in full sun and average soil. "

Wow! great Zucchini!, August 11, 2007
Submitted by adaire
"We love this zucchini! We have grown it for 3 years now and it has never failed to produce massive amounts of delicious zucchini. It keeps well and doesn't turn to mush when cooked. The plants are extremely healthy and produce more than you can eat in full sun. The blossoms are huge and the neighbors have stopped by to ask what we are growing. We have kept the neighborhood well-supplied with zucchini. I highly recommend this zucchini!"

Best Zuke flavor, October 23, 2008
Submitted by Yardner from Southern Ohio
"This by far my favorite zucchini for flavor.
Easy to grow and even the large ones have great flavor grilled or fried.
A definite must if you are a zucchini lover."

Very cool looking Zuke, July 20, 2008
Submitted by CPearce from Salt Lake City, UT
"These were very good tasting and would grow like crazy. Unlike the standard Zuke, the skin would get tough as they would get somewhat bigger. I'd love to chop up the small ones into salads."

good, prolific, September 27, 2007
Submitted by midwestgardener from Northwest OH
"Best feature of these is the pretty shape. The taste was quite good, though as always with zucchini, best when small. My family did not like them raw at all, but cooked in Italian or Indian dishes they were excellent. As one other reviewer noted, powdery mildew has started to be an issue now that we finally are getting rain, and the plants have stopped yielding much now in late September. But that is OK, since we were getting tired of zucchini!"

Submitted by Tylersthymes from Canandaigua, NY
"I have had people stop by my home just to see if this zucchini was ready to harvest!! This is the best zucchini, very meaty, tasty, makes great Bread-n-Butter pikckles and freezes very well for later use. If you ever want to try a sure thing, then grab a packet of these seeds and enjoy!!"

Pretty but Thick Skinned, July 27, 2007
Submitted by jen2500
"This zucchini yielded nicely shaped fruit which were tasty, but the skins tended to be thick and not tender like the usual zucchini. I skinned some of them."

Gadzukes Again, November 12, 2006

"I love this squash. It is tastes great raw in a salad as well as being visually pleasing when sliced. I have grown it for two years and intend to plant it again. The reason for the four leaves in performance is it's propensity to develop powdery mildew in our foggy summers here along Buzzards Bay in MA. Catch it early and it is just fine but it does take some vigilance."

"I think, why plant the same varieties of vegetables you can buy in the store? Regular, smooth, green zucchini is a cinch to grow and even easier to buy.
I felt that I accomplished something really special in my garden when I planted the Gadzukes hybrid zuchinni. They grow like weeds in the hot, San Diego summer sun. They produced more than we can eat and give away. They taste great and have a very unique visual appeal. I will be growing this variety next season for sure."

"We grew gadzukes in an ornamental vegetable garden and harvested zuchinnis up to 4.5 lbs that were delicious raw, cooked, in bread, brownies, frozen, etc. And, in Alaska where the store-bought zukes are tiny and keep just a few days from purchase, these kept beyond 4 weeks in the fridge and the shape was so unique!"
