"Both early maturing and extremely productive in a wide range of temperatures, 'Carmen' also exudes traditional Italian sweet pepper taste. The compact 28"" tall plants yield abundant horn-shaped fruits so characteristic of grilled and sauteed peppers throughout the Mediterranean. As they mature from green to red they get even sweeter, making them an excellent choice for fresh salads or cooked dishes. An updated version of the classic Italian pepper. 75 days. Sorry, plants CANNOT be sent to AK, AZ, CA, HI, or NV. Plants ship in spring at proper planting time. ( click here for shipping schedule ) "

"What a great roasting pepper. Heck it was great for eating raw too, very crisp and sweet, fairly thick walled. It is a great pepper hands down. It was easy to grow and productive (still getting peppers in Ohio in mid-Sept) even though it did not get great spots in my garden. It will next year. This is really an extra sweet pepper and I will definitely grow it again next year. I think it is as sweet as I have had. Not a huge plant, I really believe this may be perfect for containers and will give that a shot next year too."

Lots of Peppers per plant,

"Peppers are easy to grow and this one is no exception. I got lots of good sized peppers on each plant, which ripen to a beautiful red in short time - even in bad soil. I live in Florida - lots of sandy soil - and these grow wonderfully in my garden, even in areas where I haven't amended the soil. Great flavor, too. These are great sauteed with onions and mushrooms and put over pasta. Use in any Italian dish. Not many seeds to clean out and rather thin flesh, these cook fast and have a pleasant, sweet taste."
