Eggplant Fairy Tale - Packet (30 seeds)

"All-America Winner. Tender, plump and sweet, these luscious-looking mini marvels are little jewels of delicious creamy flavor.
The short, slender fruits make tasty conversation pieces, with their beautifully marbled purple and white tones.
In clusters of six fruits, the mini eggplants 4-5"" x 1"" grow on prolifically branching compact plants.
Perfect for growing in containers. 50 days.

I'll plant this variety again next year!, September 14, 2009
Submitted by Hilary from Altadena
"Fairy eggplant is so tender, so sweet, so crisp that it tastes good raw. I stuffed 18 of them southern Indian style and baked in a tomato sauce that also came out of the garden - delicious. I have lots of family members that don't like the big purple ones, but I'll be they would eat these. Delicious. So hardy my plants survived a lengthy heatwave and almost two weeks of constant smoke and heavy ash-fall from a gigantic forest fire nearby. I wish my tomatoes had fared so well."

Big healthy plans and a ton of fruits, April 29, 2009
Submitted by 83Rachel from Salisbury, MD
"I started the seeds inside and put them in my vegetable bed...they didn't really grow at all. The plants stayed tiny for a while. So I pulled them out and put them into a big container on my deck. They got huge and started producing bucket loads! By the end of the season I didn't even know what to do with the eggplants anymore. I gave so many away, and ate so many. They were delicious little things! Excellent purchase."

Best of them all?, November 4, 2007

"I grow new varieties of eggplant every year. This is an AAS winner for a reason. FANTASTIC! I mean, I really don't mix words. Best eggplant I have ever had. Wish they were bigger though. These really produced well and I am glad they did. My neighbors, friends and family could not get enough."

wonderful for Asian dishes, September 24, 2007
Submitted by midwestgardener from Northwest OH
"These are perfect for my cooking and gardening style. I got frustrated with waiting for the few large eggplants I can grow in my limited space, raised beds. I found a wilted lone plant last year at the local gardening center, and it out-produced my other plants combined. So I was delighted to find them at Burpees this year. I was not disappointed. We feasted on eggplant dishes of every variety throughout July and well into August. I do get grubs (that later turn into beetles), but handpicking keeps them under control in my small garden. The plants stopped producing in late August when shaded by a nearby zucchini plant, but when I got them back in the sun, they have started to flower and produce again. If you like Chinese or Indian eggplant dishes, these are for you!"

Amazing!, August 8, 2007

"I have never grown an eggplant in my life, and I, now, am deluged
with mountains of these, and from just a couple of plants. And during a summer of horrific draught, here, and beetles galore! My neighbors were so impressed! Beautiful and plentiful. I am Delighted!"
