Best Basil Out There, April 4, 2009

"I've grown this basil for a few years now, and I just turned 21. I have never found a better basil to grow or eat. I've always done it in containers outside, but you could defintely do it in a garden. Just make sure to nip off the flowers when they grow (they will be purple). That will encourage more foliage to grow, which is the whole reason from growing basil. Enjoy!!"

unique and worth your time, August 20, 2008

"This basil is wonderful for adventurous cooks. I love to cook authentic thai food and cannot easily find the more licorice-y thai basil it calls for where i live, it wasn't available on this site either when i set out to plan my garden. But, the cinnamon basil makes a very lovely substitute. It truly does make a unique addition to thai dishes with its rich, cinnamon scent and flavor, even as a plate garnish it helps to mask the very pungent fishy odors that come with thai food. I also use cinnamon basil in soups and am thinking of trying it as an herbal tea. It likes at least an 8in. pot and lots of sunshine and water. The blossoms are a gorgeous pale purple, even if you don't eat any its at least nice to look at. Give it a try!"
