Not the best product
Reviewed On:April 11, 2010
"I tried Mrs Wages dill mix last year. I had always used Ball brand pickle mixes in the past, but decided to try something new. I really regretted it. The Ball mix has much more spice and seasoning -- big pieces of garlic and peppercorns. Looks like, and tastes like, top notch dill pickles. The Mrs Wages product was just powdery ground spices and no big herb pieces or peppercorns. Plus it had a weird fluorescent yellow-green hue in brine. I think the flavor was weaker and not nearly as robust as Ball. I'm sticking with Ball mixes this year and I suggest you do too. They really make great pickles. You can get them at the grocery store or Ace Hardware."

Great Pickles
Reviewed On:March 12, 2009
"I purchased all 3 types from a local farmers market and have not been disappointed. The bread and butter are the best imo. If you like pickles with some zip add some hot peppers, from your garden of course, to the kosher dill. Simple to make but plan on occupying serious space in the refrigerator if you have an overabundance of cukes as I did---1 pack makes 4-6 pints of pickles. I still have 16 pints left and have given many away. The cold pack is the preferred method, for me anyway, because they retain the crispness but you can cook the pickles (to store elsewhere like a fruit cellar) by boiling in the jars for 20 minutes however they lose their snap but gain a little flavor. If you love pickles then by all means give this brand a try. You won't be disappointed either."
