"I always tell people that it's better to buy the already started plants than to go through the long germination of dealing with seeds. And they still may or may not make it. These peppers performed great for me because Burpee always has their plants packed in a special plastic casing so they shift very little during the shipping process. The soil is usually moist in their individual cells and the plants are in good health. I normally keep them indoors for about 5 days after they arrive to get them ready for planting in the garden. This gives me a chance to make the soil in my garden perfect and integrate the additives before I plant. Once I do, these peppers and usually at least 3 other varieties of sweet and hot peppers along with 2 or 3 varieties of tomatoes take off like a fox with it's tail on fire!! A little 8-8-8 fertilizer after they get about a foot tall around the perimeter of the root system will take them to the next level. At the alotted time of harvest, you will have more great tasting peppers and tomatoes than you can believe! The zavory is a very delicious hybrid habanero which has that smoky fruity taste which you love in a habanero but with waaaaayyyy less heat! (-: They are the perfect mild hot pepper. I will grow these every year in my garden until Burpee stops selling them!"
"Started these from seed. Grew slower than the other peppers and did not make peppers for a while. However, once they finally started producing, they made a large number of nice sized peppers. They seemed to do better when the weather cooled down a little and lasted the longest of all the peppers (we had 6-7 varieties) I have noticed this in regular habaneros in the past. I will grow these again. we used them fresh and dried them for storage."

Great Jelly
Reviewed On:December 26, 2009
"This is an idea I have dreamed about for years. Even tried crossing habanero with bell, but had poor results. Bought both the seeds and plants. Didn't get a single plant from the seeds, but all 3 plants did exceptionally well. Incredibly prolific, probably best that I didn't get the seeds to grow! Not exactly a habanero in flavor, but still fruity in a habanero sort of way. Made the best pepper jelly I have ever made or eaten! Gave lots of jars as presents and everyone wants to have my "recipie"! Not hot enough for fruity salsa or pickeling. I am ordering 3 more plant this year."

Germinated late and then died...
Reviewed On:July 6, 2009
"Bought the seeds...slow to germinate, and so far two out of three have shriveled up and died after about 8 weeks. Never got good color out of the baby plants...always seemed yellow rather than green. Was really hopeful on this..."
"Love the flavor and the plants are very prolific producers. Highly reccomend them!"

Wonderful Flavor
Reviewed On:January 6, 2009
"What a breakthrough to be able to enjoy the fruity flavor of habaneros without the burn! A new favorite for me, I'll be sure to find room for this in my garden again. I ordered the plants last year, one didn't survive, but the other two produced an abundance of little gems. However they did take a while to turn and I ended up picking them before they ever turned red-most of them at the green stage once the frost hit. Giving them another try this year."
